Site for new St. Paul waste collection service was carefully selected

As a native Minnesotan I take great pride in bringing FCC Environmental Services to the city of St Paul On April our company officially began residential waste collection for the vast majority of St Paul s neighborhoods This marks a new chapter not just for FCC but for how residents experience this critical facility At FCC we believe that a cleaner city is a stronger city Our mission is to provide reliable sustainable and customer-focused waste collection and that s exactly what we re here to deliver for the people of St Paul We ve built our reputation across the U S by offering high-quality facility innovative fleet mechanism and deep respect for the communities we serve That same approach is now taking root here in my home state We recognize that various concerns have been raised about the Randolph Avenue site we re using to stage and fuel our trucks Let me be clear this site was attentively selected is zoned for industrial use and is a key part of our capital in St Paul and efficient operations Our ability to deliver uninterrupted citywide organization depends on logistics that work And thanks to the exigency declaration and executive order issued by Mayor Melvin Carter and extended by the City Council we ve been able to move forward while the city s longer-term site review process continues Still I understand why people have questions and we re listening We re also taking action We re working closely with city leaders neighbors and stakeholders to patronage operations while being responsive to area input FCC didn t come to St Paul to be at odds with residents We came here to serve We ve already invested significantly in this city We ve created over well-paying jobs drivers mechanics dispatchers and aid staff We ve deployed a fleet that includes clean-burning compressed natural gas CNG vehicles and three electric trucks aligning with St Paul s ambitious sustainability goals And we ve brought a customer-first mindset that prioritizes on-time pickup responsive organization and constant improvement Residents who ve experienced FCC provision in other parts of the country from Florida to California know that we bring a level of professionalism and performance that stands out In fact it s one of the reasons St Paul selected FCC to handle facility for of the city s homes We re here because the city wants better for its residents And make no mistake this is a major improvement over the previous system Since October St Paul s citywide trash initiative had been managed by a consortium of haulers While that system aimed to bring structure it struggled with consistency responsiveness and environmental accountability FCC offers a unified professional approach backed by industry-leading apparatus safety practices and sustainability efforts There are consistently challenges in a labor-intensive and essential industry like ours But we are problem-solvers And we remain absolutely committed to delivering on our promise to St Paul Our company operates with three core values quality integrity and respect That means we show up when we say we will We care about how our work impacts neighborhoods And we value open honest communication These are also Minnesota values and they re central to the way I lead FCC Looking ahead we are collaborating with city leaders and continuing to engage the society Our focus remains on providing the the greater part efficient environmentally responsible organization doable The transition to FCC represents a step forward for St Paul and we re excited to prove it every day on every street with every pickup To our new customers thank you for welcoming us We re grateful for your trust and we re committed to earning it through hard work transparency and results And to those who have voiced concerns know that we hear you and we re committed to working together toward solutions St Paul deserves excellent facility FCC is here to deliver it with pride purpose and Minnesota values Dan Brazil is CEO of FCC Environmental Services He joined FCC in after roles in the industry in Minnesota He is a native of Litchfield More from MinnPost St Paul mayor s veto timing prevents a City Council override again The post Site for new St Paul waste collection function was diligently selected appeared first on MinnPost
